Privacy Policy

Welcome to the most comfortable corner of the internet. We know most people treat Privacy Policy pages like the "terms and conditions" on a software update, you just want to click "Agree" and get to the good stuff. However, at Hoodie Hangout, we believe in transparency, snacks, and personal space.

We’ve put a lot of effort into crafting every tasty detail of the sections below to ensure your data is treated with as much care as a vintage fleece. Please take a moment to click through our accordions; you might find our policies are surprisingly digestible, and you might even find a little something extra to bake this weekend.

1. Information We Collect

To get your hoodies from our warehouse to your front door, we collect the following:

• Order Information: Name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (processed securely through our payment gateway), email address, and phone number.

• Device Information: We automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, and time zone, to help our site run smoothly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We aren't in the business of snooping. We use your data strictly for:

• Fulfilling Orders: Processing payments, arranging shipping, and providing you with invoices/order confirmations.

• Customer Support: Communicating with you regarding your orders or inquiries.

• Internal Analytics: We use data to see which hoodies are hits and which are misses. This helps us improve our store layout and product selection.

We promise, as much as we love you, we aren't using your information to track down old embaracing photos to hang up around the office. We just don't have enough time. 🙂

3. Data Sharing & Distribution

Here is the bottom line: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share your information with essential service providers who help us operate, such as:

• Shipping Carriers: (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx) so they know where to deliver your package.

• Payment Processors: To securely handle your credit card or digital wallet transactions.

•Analytics Tools: (e.g., Google Analytics) to help us understand how our customers use the site.

We love out customers too much to share you with anyone else. 🙂

4. Your Security

We take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure your personal information is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

5. Cookies

First, let’s get the disappointment out of the way: despite the name, the cookies we are talking about here are not warm, gooey, or filled with chocolate chips. While we agree that those are delicious and a vital part of any hoodie-wearing experience, the cookies on our site are just small data files.

How we use them:

• Functionality: We use cookies to keep track of what’s in your shopping cart so your items don't disappear while you’re browsing.

• Experience: They help our site remember your preferences so you don’t have to reset things every time you visit.

• Analytics: They tell us which pages are popular (like our "Best Sellers") and which ones might need a little extra love.

You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, but please note that if you do, our site might get a little confused, and you may have trouble completing a purchase. For the best experience, we recommend keeping them "baked in."

To help with the disappointment that we have no ACTUAL cookies stashed away here, we've put together a recipe for you to make your own cookies:

The "Cozy Hoodie" Chocolate Chip Cookies
Prep time: 15 mins | Bake time: 10 mins | Yield: About 24 cookies

Ingredients
• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (227g)
• ¾ cup white sugar
• ¾ cup packed brown sugar (for that chewy texture)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chunks if you’re feeling fancy)

Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep: Heat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper so nothing sticks.

2. Cream the Butter: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and both sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3. Mix in Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then stir in the vanilla.

4. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Don't overmix—just go until the white streaks of flour disappear.

5. The Good Stuff: Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.

6. Scoop & Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look a little soft.

7. The Secret Step: Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them. This "sets" the center so they stay chewy.

If you try out our cookie recipe and tag us in a photo on social media, we might just send you a little something special. No promises, but we’ve been known to reward a well-baked batch with a free hoodie or some sweet "Hangout" swag.

6. Changes to This Policy

Life is fickle, and sometimes things need to change to keep up. We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
